East Africa: Tanzania's Kilimanjaro Queens to Face Kenya in Cecafa Final

Tanzania Mainland Women team, Kilimanjaro Queens gallantly seized the 2016 CECAFA Women final ticket after punishing hosts Uganda Crested Cranes 4-1 in Jinja yesterday.

The Queens will meet Kenya Harambee Starlets who qualified for the final after beating Ethiopia's Lucy 3-2. The Queens took to the pitch against Group A' s second best Uganda Crested Cranes and it was goal after goal making it 3-0 at halftime and 4-1 at full time.

Donisia Daniel opened the floodgates in the sixth minute and left the proceedings for her team-mates, who ensured the 4-1 triumph in the second half. Mwanahamisi Omari scored in the 17th minute then Stumai Abdalla made it 3-0 in the 30th minute.

Asha Rashid then came from the tunnel to proceed from where her teammates had left going past Uganda's keeper in the 48th minute. Hasifa Nassuna pulled one back for Uganda in the dying minutes of the match.

The Kilimanjaro Queens will therefore, meet Kenya in the final as Uganda locks horns with Ethiopia in the tourney's third place play-off on Tuesday. Kilimanjaro Queens began with the Group B campaign with a 3-2 win over Rwanda The Amavubi in Jinja before a draw with Ethiopia in their second game. Kenya qualified for the final after beating Ethiopia's Lucy 3-2 in the first semi-final with Neddy Atieno (brace) and Carolyne Anyango being on target.

Ethiopia registered their two goals courtesy of Losa Abera in a match, whose first half was clearly dominated by the Ethiopians.
