Rwanda: Gicumbi FC Unveil Squad for 2016/17 Season
National football league side Gicumbi FC have signed 13 players and a new head coach Hussein Baraka ahead of the 2016/17 season which will get underway on October 14.
"It's important to strengthen our team ahead of the new season. We have signed 12 new players, who the club believes are good and experienced enough to help the team to achieve its targets," said the club assistant coach, Methode Kamali.
Kamali will work under Tanzania-born and former Musanze FC head coach Hussein Baraka, who signed one-year deal and tasked to improve on last season's 9th place finish in the league with 34 points in 30 games.
"We started pre-season training four weeks ago and the team is looking good, we will continue to prepare and hopefully we will have a better team than last season," added Kamali.
The new signings include; Jean Claude Nshimiyimana (Espoir), Allain Miziero (SEC Academy), Theophile Musoni (Rayon Sports), Aphrodis Mungurareba (Musanze FC), Patrick Kalisa Gasore (Giti Cy'inyoni), Jean de Dieu Nyabenda (Sunrise FC), Pierre Celestin Shyaka (Pipinierre), Saad Nkurunziza (Mukura VS), Emmanuel Niyonizera (Mukura VS), Valens Nduwayo (Hope Academy), Patrick Mugisha (Rwamagana City), Egide Rutayisire (Musanze FC) and Kalim Rugerinyange (Sec Academy).
